Prof. Qingsheng Zeng

Bio:

Qingsheng Zeng (S'97--M'02--SM'11) received his Ph.D. from University of Ottawa, Canada, and is currently a distinguished professor and PhD advisor of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA), an adjunct professor and PhD advisor of University of Ottawa, Carleton University, Université du Québec an Outaouais (UQO), and Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique -- Centre Energie, Matériaux et Télécommunications (INRS-EMT), a guest professor of Harbin Engineering University (HEU), Northwestern Polytechnic University (NWPU), Beijing University of Post and Telecommunications (BUPT) and Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU). He has been a research engineer and a senior research engineer at Communications Research Centre Canada (CRC), Government of Canada. Dr. Zeng has undertaken research and teaching in several fields, including antenna analysis and design, electromagnetic compatibility and interference (EMC/EMI), ultra wideband technology, radio wave propagation, computational electromagnetics. He has been the Chair of AP (Antennas and Propagation) / MTT (Microwave Theory and Techniques) Joint Chapter and Secretary of EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) Chapter of IEEE Ottawa, a Member of IEEE Canada Industry Relations Committee, and a senior member of IEEE. Dr. Zeng has been a member of the Strategic Projects Grant (SPG) Selection Panel (Information and Communications Technologies B) for the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), a member of Site Visit Committee of NSERC Industrial Research Chair (IRC), and a reviewer of NSERC Industrial R&D Fellowships.

Prof. Tae-Kyun Kim

Bio:

Tae-Kyun (T-K) Kim is a full Professor and the director of Computer Vision and Learning Lab at School of Computing, KAIST since 2020, and has been an adjunct reader of Imperial College London (ICL), UK for 2020-2024. He led Computer Vision and Learning Lab at ICL during 2010-2020. He obtained his PhD from Univ. of Cambridge in 2008 and Junior Research Fellowship (governing body) of Sidney Sussex College, Univ. of Cambridge during 2007-2010. His BSc and MSc are from KAIST. His research interests primarily lie in machine (deep) learning for 3D computer vision and generative AI, including: articulated 3D hand/body reconstruction, face analysis and recognition, 6D object pose estimation, activity recognition, object detection/tracking, active robot vision, which lead to novel active and interactive visual sensing. He has co-authored over 100 academic papers in top-tier conferences and journals in the field, and has co-organised series of HANDS workshops and 6D Object Pose workshops (in conjunction with CVPR/ICCV/ECCV) since 2015. He was the general chair of BMVC17 in London, the program co-chair of BMVC23, and is Associate Editor of Pattern Recognition Journal, Image and Vision Computing Journal. He regularly serves as an Area Chair for top-tier vision/ML conferences. He received KUKA best service robotics paper award at ICRA 2014, and 2016 best paper award by the ASCE Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering, and the best paper finalist at CVPR 2020, and his co-authored algorithm for face image representation is an international standard of MPEG-7 ISO/IEC.

Prof. Mohand Tahar Kechadi

Bio:

Professor M-Tahar Kechadi was awarded PhD and Masters degree - in Computer Science from University of Lille 1, France. He joined the UCD School of Computer Science (CS) in 1999. He is currently Professor of Computer Science at CS, UCD. His research interests span the areas of Data Mining, distributed data mining heterogeneous distributed systems, Grid and Cloud Computing, and digital forensics and cyber-crime investigations. Prof Kechadi has published over 260 research articles in refereed journals and conferences. He serves on the scientific committees for a number of international conferences and he organised and hosted one of the leading conferences in his area. He is currently an editorial board member of the Journal of Future Generation of Computer Systems and of IST Transactions of Applied Mathematics-Modelling and Simulation. He is a member of the communication of the ACM journal and IEEE computer society. He is regularly invited as a keynote speaker in international conferences or to give a seminar series in some Universities worldwide. The core and central focus of his research for the last decade is how to manage and analyse data quickly and efficiently. Nowadays we live in digital world, we produce more data than we can analyse and exploit. This `big data' will continue to grow at rapid pace, will underpin new waves of innovation in nearly every sector of the world economy, and will reshape the way we build and use computers (hardware and software). Currently, his research interests are primarily in · Data Mining techniques and models and their execution environments and applications (Forensic data, Medical data, distributed, cloud/Grid type services, etc.) · Medical Data Mining: from knowledge to infrastructure.
